posted: Dec 16th, 2009 It took the Rhythm 3-way not even two days to come to a conclusion. The long and intensive selection process ended last weekend with the tryout of three candidates at the Paraclete XP wind tunnel. The NSL reported live from the tryout site with stories and video clips on 11 November 2009 and followed up with one missing piece on 13 November 2009. Steve Lefkowitz called the NSL News on Monday afternoon and announced officially that Thiago Muradas is the new Tail for his team. News Article Did you know that Ben Liston reported great success from the North East tunnel meet?
posted: Dec 15th, 2009 The NSL News recently posted scores, photos and lineups of the last tunnel meet this year. Organizer Ben Liston now reported that "the 2nd annual indoor competition at SkyVenture New Hampshire this December simply rocked." Approx. 120 people competed in the meet, which included 4-way FS events on Saturday and 2-way VFS events on Sunday. The 10-round 4-way competition attracted 29 teams and the new 2-way VFS event 15 additional teams. News Article Did you know that Christy Frikken's Moxie team won the Team Building Week's 16-way Challenge?
posted: Dec 14th, 2009 Perris Valley Skydiving in California, home of Perris Fury, once again hosted its annual team-building workshop over the Thanksgiving weekend. It's a 3-day event for formation skydivers geared towards helping individuals find potential teammates and sometimes just friends to jump with for the upcoming season. As in previous years, Perris Fury hosted the event and offered free coaching, organizing and the opportunity to jump with the team members, Chris Farina, Christy Frikken, Josh Hall and Uli Steuwe. News Article Did you know that Thiago Muradas' video completes the Rhythm tryout coverage?
posted: Dec 13th, 2009 The SDC Rhythm XP tryout for the Tail slot was completed successfully on Saturday evening. It was a long and intensive day for Rhythm, the three candidates, coach Kirk Verner and the NSL News. The first two candidates, Samer Haija and Nick Grillet were already featured with videos of their flying sessions in the two stories that were posted at the event site, the Paraclete XP wind tunnel in Raeford, North Carolina. Thiago Muradas was the last candidate for the slot and finished off the tryout with the session that began at 8:30 pm. The three Rhythm members and Kirk Verner now have a few days... (more)
News Article Did you know that Nick Grillet has completed his session?
posted: Dec 11th, 2009 Nick Grillet is done, too. He is actually the top contender at the moment, as the first results of the tryout poll indicate. He is the only learned and trained Tail of the three candidates and has a 2-year experience in the slot. Thiago Muradas was the Center Outside for Sebastian Tempest this year. Samer Haija was the Point for Arizona/Spaceland Directe. Thiago Muradas used the first two flying sessions carefully to learn more about the slot and how the SDC Rhythm XP 3-way is flying with each candidate. (more)
News Article Did you know that Samer Haija's flying session is now on NSL-TV?
posted: Dec 11th, 2009 Samer Haija has completed his whole part of the SDC Rhythm XP tryout at the Paraclete XP wind tunnel. He discussed the team project with Rob Radez, JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz and then spent an hour in the flying chamber with them. Coach Kirk Verner was observing the flying session and evaluating the performance outside the flying chamber. Nick Grillet and Thiago Muradas were interested observers, as well, naturally. It was a 30-minute flying time, as the team shared the hour with the Eagles, an Embry Riddle novice team from Florida that prepares for the US Collegiate Championship 2009. The... (more)
