Did you know that the Airspeed lead is up to four points after Round 7? posted: Jan 14th, 2010 The scores for Round 7 confirmed Craig Girard's new theory: "I guess not telling you guys the scores is the secret. We actually got the raw score on that jump for the first time this meet! To be honest, we feel like we might have got away with one for a change. There was a build of Block 1 about half way through the jump that was shaky... I think it was complete, but the fact is that it doesn't look good, so I figured they would bust it."
They did not and accepted Airspeed's 24 points within working time as the official score. The Airspeed lead over Hayabusa is now the biggest one of the Dubai... (more)
Did you know that there are no scoresheets available in Dubai? posted: Jan 14th, 2010 Round 7 has already been completed, and Airspeed's video can already be reviewed on the team's Facebook page. The scores have not been posted yet, and Craig Girard does not feel like commenting much any longer after being surprised by the results on the scoreboard already a few times before.
However, he also uploaded the video of Round 6 where Airspeed, Hayabusa and France all shared the highscore of 26 points for the round.
The results of the judging procedure and any details of the penalty situations are completely subject to speculation, he also reported. There is no eletronic judging... (more)
Did you know that new Airspeed videos offer more details on the vacation day in Dubai? posted: Jan 13th, 2010 Teams and competitors are off today in Dubai, and the NSL News has time to catch up.
First of all, it seems to make no sense to continue with France and Canada as options for the same question in the NSL Poll. It is all between Airspeed and Hayabusa now. The poll is open again for all voters. There is still a competition between France and Canada for the 3rd place and the $10,000 though.
Then, Craig Girard uploaded two more Airspeed videos to YouTube. Rounds 4 and 5 are now available for reviews.

Did you know that things turned out differently than they looked like in Round 6? posted: Jan 12th, 2010 The scores for the second round of the day were posted really late in Dubai. However, they are up now, and they brought new surprises.
Arizona Airspeed has continued to successfully maintain the 20-point and up per round streak today. The world champions were the only team with a 2 at the beginning of the score in Round 5, and Round 6 was a faster one anyway.
Nothing seems to be in the way any longer to add another meet with only 20-pointers and up from here on. It is once again impressive that slower rounds, point deductions, little hickups here and there and even the exits from the Bell... (more)
Did you know that Hayabusa Defence may save the best for last? posted: Jan 12th, 2010 Things have been moving a little bit quicker today in Dubai, and the scores for Round 5 have already been posted. It will also be the first time where the teams will complete two rounds on the same day. Round 6 is complete, and the judges are working on the scores.
Round 5 added another single point to the thin Airspeed lead. The 4-way world champions were not overly happy with their performance: "Just landed from Round 5. We had a decent jump, but we left at least one point on the table. The round looks clean to us and timed as an unofficial 20. We were a bit restrained for some reason on this... (more)
Did you know that the atmosphere in Dubai was heating up in Rounds 3 and 4? posted: Jan 12th, 2010 Arizona Airspeed's re-jump for Round 3 had an aftermath that lasted for a little while. The Hayabusa Defence Blog showed that the reason for the re-jump was disputed and not appreciated by everybody:
"There were some problems with the air speed of the chopper when Airspeed needed to jump out in Round 3. There was a big discussion going on, it is better that I spare you the details, but it wasn't nice, what they pulled out this time, to get their re-jump. The protest came in AFTER they knew the score."
Hayabusa was of the opinion that a protest should be filed before a team knows the score,... (more)
