News Article Did you know that the first competition jumps were made in Dubai?
posted: Jan 8th, 2010 It is getting dangerously close to the first 4-way scores in Dubai. The 4-way teams have completed their training jumps, and the competition draw has been published. Arizona Airspeed's Craig Girard kindly sent it quickly to the NSL News, "hot off the press". The event pages have been set up, and the first scores will hopefully follow soon. Airspeed's Eliana Rodriguez also contributed to the event coverage. She used her own camera to provide a panoramic overview of the competition site and commented what can be seen on the short video clip. It is a very special and unique event site, as the... (more)

The 4-way world champions from Arizona, now with a complete lineup in Dubai, visited the drop zone early in the morning to find out what it looks like. The first days at the event site were more like a tourist vacation for the team members, as Craig Girard explained: "We have been touring around Dubai for the last two days, and the city is very interesting. I have been completely surprised to find that there are so many different nationalities working here. It has been very nice to travel... (more)

News Article Did you know that Area 51 has an all Italian lineup for the World Challenge 2010?
posted: Jan 5th, 2010 One of the first teams that signed up very early for the World Challenge 2010 was Area 51, an international lineup with two DeLand Norgies members, Lise Nansen-Aune and Pal Kolbenstvedt. Alex Jordaan from South Africa and Igor Galvan from Italy completed the lineup. Area 51 of 2009 finished with an 18.9 average in Bedford. Igor Galvan was the driving force to put together last year's lineup. He wanted to challenge himself with the Norwegian world class players and found a like-minded team mate with Alex Jordaan. He tried to bring Lise Nansen-Aune back for the World Challenge 2010, but she... (more)
News Article Did you know that Meili Modini is Perris Fury's new team videographer?
posted: Jan 4th, 2010 The NSL News story on 21 September 2009 (Archives > 2009 > Newx > Search for: "Karen Lewis") explained the video troubles that Perris Fury had at the September meet of the Texas Skydiving League. Fury did not have a team videographer throughout the 2009 season ever since Niklas Daniel was filming the team until the USPA Nationals 2009 and left the team at the end of the 2009 season. The bronze medalist of the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships hired videographers for training and competition whenever they needed them. The video disaster in Texas eventually brought Fury back to Karen... (more)
News Article Did you know that VTSD leaves the A Class field in the dust?
posted: Jan 4th, 2010 It took a while until the 4-way teams finally got in the air at the USPA 2009 Collegiate Championships . The first round was completed Friday afternoon. However, Skydive Spaceland showed already at the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships that a meet can still be completed if the lift capacity is available, even with limited weather conditions. Most likely, all six scheduled rounds will eventually be completed at the end of Saturday. The leaderboard after three rounds looks as it was expected. Virginia Tech's USPA gold medalist of 2009 in the AA/Intermediate Class, VTSD, leaves all other... (more)
