Did you know that Airspeed's Craig Girard talked about World Cup and Nationals? posted: Oct 4th, 2009 The NSL News story on 2 October 2009 mentioned a recent interview with Airspeed's Center Outside Craig Girard who said that the slow sequences are very important to stay on the top. The video with this interview has now been uploaded and is ready for reviews.
Craig Girard and Eliana Rodriguez had just come back from trips to Brazil and Belgium. Arizona Airspeed had resumed the training after the travel times when the NSL News asked for an update a little over a week before the start of the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships.
Craig Girard answered the NSL News questions on Skype. The... (more)
Did you know that the winner is 10-1-22? posted: Oct 3rd, 2009 It was a long story with a lot of details that covered the slow sequences. Did you know that the slow sequences are under the NSL News microscope? posted: Oct 2nd, 2009 The NSL News is going back to another topic that came up a few times in the past months and will most likely be quite important at the upcoming 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships: the few teams that have managed to get through 10-round meets without scoring below 20 points for any round.
Four teams have achieved this special feat in the history of Formation Skydiving competition: DeLand Majik, Airspeed Odyssey, Team Fastrax and France Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge. Airspeed did it at three consecutive meets (Malevsky Cup 2007, Paraclete Money Meet 2007, USPA Nationals 2007), Fastrax at two... (more)
Did you know that "Nobody" may break the Mass Defiance 19.3 record average? posted: Oct 1st, 2009 The Open Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2009 would not bring any surprises if the votes on the NSL Polls were correct. Arizona Airspeed would win the 4-way and the 8-way competition. Perris Fury and Spaceland Force XP would be in a tight race for the silver medals.
The situation is very different in the poll that is actually posted on the event page for the Advanced Class competition. The question there has been who will break Mass Defiance's 19.3 record average for the "amateur teams" in the championship. These teams, which apply the IPC/AAA/Open Class dive pool, can be found in the... (more)
Did you know that Team Fastrax was the 3rd 20+ team? posted: Sep 30th, 2009 The NSL News presented an eye candy to the on-line audience with the story on 17 September 2009. The story included the videos of Arizona Airspeed at the Paraclete Money Meet 2007, France Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge at the FAI World Cup 2009 and DeLand Majik at the Malevsky Cup 2002. All videos were related to the "20-points-and-up-per-round" topic of the story.
One of the three tops of the leaderboards, with competition draw and scores, was mistaken though. The graphic on top of Airspeed's videos at the Paraclete Money Meet 2007 was actually showing the scores of the Malevsky Cup 2007.

Did you know that a new dive pool proposal comes from the Netherlands? posted: Sep 29th, 2009 Many great ideas come up in situations that are not set up for that purpose.
The Dutch 4-way team that represented the Netherlands at the FAI World Cup 2009, NRG, is another example for creativity in an unusual situation.
Rogier Carper (Tail), Jaap Keuter (Center Inside), Gerhard Schut (Center Outside), Leander van Schriek (Point), with Milo Pieters on camera, had a very successful 2009 season and finished with a 14.6 average after nine rounds in the Czech Republic.
