Did you know that Australia's national team Airtite had to work harder this year?
posted: Mar 24th, 2008 The Australian Nationals 2008 were held last week at at Sydney Skydivers in Picton, New South Wales. Perfect weather saw the 4-way competition completed in two days, with Airtite and C4 battling for the chance to represent Australia at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving this August in Maubeuge, France. Team Airtite, with Jeremy Langford (Point), Gary Nemirovsky (Outside Center), Rob Tasic (Inside Center), Simon Disciassio (Tail) and Andy Oakley (Camera), has been dominating the 4-way event downunder for several years after winning the national title with this lineup for the first... Press releases and invitations to the media representatives were sent out prior to the event. The result was once again very different to any expectations after the reporter of the Daytona Beach News-Journal visited live throughout the event weekend. Did you know that official and unofficial world record owners faced each other in Round 6?
posted: Mar 22nd, 2008 The 4-way and skydiving community around the planet has been waiting for the videos of Round 6 of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 to be uploaded. It is now time to be impressed by another unofficial 4-way world record for a single round. The sequence of Round 6 surely was the fastest one of the competition draw with five random formations (G-C-J-D-B). However, Norway's national team in the female category, Fortitudo, had not drawn not the fastest record sequence at all. Did you know that seven teams travel from DeLand to Bedford?
posted: Mar 21st, 2008 Round 5 was the second time that money was on stake at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008. Performance Designs sponsored this round was $300 cash, and the money would go to the winner after handicap. Denmark's national 4-way team, Danish Blaze, performed above the team's previously shown level in rounds one to four and was compensated for the hard work to learn the exits from the Pilatus Porter. Danish Blaze is one of the seven teams that competed in DeLand last weekend and will travel to the United Kingom for next week's World Challenge 2008 at Bodyflight Bedford. Did you know that Perris Fury won the first round of the Skins Game?
posted: Mar 20th, 2008 The videos of Round 3 of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 have already been replaced by new videos of Round 4. Not to forget: the total number of point deductions in Round 3 was 23 for all teams. Perris Fury had the largest portion with six penalties, which reduced the score from 31 points in working time to 25 points on the scoreboard. It was bad luck for the Perris team that videographer Niklas Daniels' ringsight of the camera was not perfectly set. Parts of the formations and maneuvers were not in the frame, and the judges had to deduct the points for the non-judgeable portions of the jump. However,... (more)

Did you know that Airspeed Odyssey and France Maubeuge each won half of the meet?
posted: Mar 19th, 2008 Round 3 of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 was the last round before the Skins Game would begin. The popular Skins Game for cash and prizes applies a handicap system, so each participating team has a chance to win. The average after the first three rounds is the foundation for the calculation of each team's handicap. Event sponsors donate prize money for each following round. However, a large portion of the whole jackpot also goes to the winning teams of each competition class before handicap. The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 had a new record jackpot of $4,500 total.
