Did you know that Joey Jones and Thomas Hughes are turning 4-way upside down? posted: Jun 17th, 2005 The NSL News story of June 17 did not mention another new team that has signed up for tomorrow's competition of the Florida Skydiving League at Skydive City. The reason was that "Black Magick" did not know exactly which competition class would be best fit for the team's skills.
Two of the team members have enough 4-way experience, however, the decision was still not easy to make. Black Magick consists of Thomas Hughes (Outside Center), Joey Jones (Inside Center), Juliana Se (Tail) and Joel Tambor (Point). The team had planned to begin the 4-way career in the Rookie Class. Did you know that ten leagues compete this weekend in the USA and in the Netherlands? posted: Jun 17th, 2005 The second big meet weekend of the 2005 season will take place at ten different locations this weekend. Nine NSL leagues have scheduled their competitions for June 18-19 , and the Dutch Handicap Competition (DHC) holds its traditional and most popular 4-way event, the Tomscat Trophy, this weekend in the Netherlands, as well.
The Tomscat Trophy is an annual event and serves to commemorate the two members of the Dutch 4-way team Tomscat, Remie Herder and Sjaak Strating, who were killed in Perris Valley on April 24th, 1992 in a plane chrash. This was the same plane crash where members of the U.S.... (more)
Did you know that the 4-way Female event has its own ranking this year at the Malevsky Cup? posted: Jun 17th, 2005 The NSL News story on June 12 began with the coverage of the 4-way Female event at the Malevsky Memorial Cup 2005. French national coach Jerome David had provided the NSL News with an update on the national teams of France.
The NSL News story included the success story of the French team in the 4-way Female event. The Malevsky Cup 2005 will separate the 4-way events this year and have different rankings for the 4-way Open and the 4-way Female teams. Did you know that the Mideast Skydiving League is proud of its teams? posted: Jun 16th, 2005 The Mideast Skydiving League has become one of the strongest leagues in the country. MESL Director Randy Connell's efforts and the positive impact of the Team Fastrax project has already increased 4-way interest and participation in the MESL area. Connell and Fastrax founder John Hart have even more benefits in mind and not only for the MESL.
Connell recently invited MESL teams and competitors to the upcoming second 2005 competition at the Fastrax home turf in Greensburg. He used the opportunity to point out statistics of the MESL season opener in May and regional specifics. Connell also encouraged... (more)
Did you know that the Air Force dominated at the second AA Class meet in Colorado? posted: Jun 15th, 2005 Morning came early Saturday, arriving at about the same time as the sun in the eastern sky. Although there were clouds Saturday morning, none of them were over the front range of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. The landing area looked as if it were about a mile high.
Thus was the scene for the second installment of the AA Class meets for the Colorado Skydiving League. The meet was again held at Mile Hi Skydiving Center.
The meet had been postponed for a week to take advantage of the Skydive Arizona Skyvan that was scheduled to be on hand for a boogie, instead of using the KingAir that normally... (more)
Did you know that Italy still had a good reason to "put its mind to rest" in February 2005? posted: Jun 14th, 2005 The NSL News has recently covered the topic of international eligibility for first-category events in the Sporting Code of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), which involves the Italian national 4-way team, Sinapsi PD, and the team's new member in the tail position, Pete Allum.
The case was first covered and completed by the NSL News in December 2004, then picked up again with the NSL News story on June 9 and continued with the story on June 11, which included a comprehensive feedback provided by IPC President Patrice Girardin.
