Did you know that the double-gold attempts started as early as in 1987? posted: Jul 6th, 2023 Double-gold attempts have been a topic for the NSL News ever since French national coach Mathieu Bernier accomplished this "mission impossible" in Menzelinsk 2010. He won FAI World Championship gold medals in 4-way Open and 8-way Open at the same event.
It was unusual, as he was the only French competitor who participated in both events. It has been more common that a whole 4-way team is a part of a national 8-way team to pursue the same goal. Even Mathieu Bernier had tried this before, together with his 4-way team mates Julien Degen, Jeremie Rollett and his brother Guillaume Bernier, with Fabrice... (more)
Did you know that two more British 4-way teams were not sanctioned for the outdoor world cup in Norway? posted: Jul 5th, 2023 Volt4ge, the current signature 4-way team of the British Army, joined the meets of the Unite Kingdom Skydiving League (UKSL) in the summer of 2018. The first lineup started with a 4.5 average on the A Class leaderboard and lifted the scoring and performance level at each monthly competition by an average point (4.5 - 5.5 - 6.5) between May and July.
Volt4ge did not attend the national outdoor championship in 2018 and came back in the same category for the three UKSL meets in 2019. This time they followed up at the British Outdoor Nationals 2019 and won the A Class gold medals with the first... (more)
Did you know that U.S. 8-way teams could win more than one set of medals in Norway? posted: Jul 4th, 2023 One of the earlier previews of the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 introduced the U.S. delegation on June 1st. It was not the complete U.S. delegation that was covered at that time. The NSL News knew by then that at least the three national teams in horizontal Formation Skydiving competition, Arizona Airspeed - XPG4 - XPGK8, would travel to Voss in Norway, together with a few additional U.S. teams (SDC Rhythm XP, SNE Fly Girls, Prison 9).
This alone was an extraordinary situation, as the update pointed out. It has never happened in the history of Formation Skydiving competition since 1985 that so... (more)

Did you know that Skywalkers Junior re-connected with HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons? posted: Jul 1st, 2023 The summer situation in the Czech Republic continues to separate the 4-way juniors from the seniors, even though Skywalkers Junior are demonstrating a new and different bridge between indoor and outdoor training and competition.
The former 4-way juniors of the HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons did not only make the step from the indoor beginnings years ago to AFF training and then to eventually joining forces for their first outdoor 4-way team. They also returned to their school place of the past years at the Hurricane Factory when it was time to perform the June sequences of the Indoor Cloud... (more)
Did you know that Alola may turn the table in the re-match with SNE Fly Girls? posted: Jun 30th, 2023 The first NSL Power Rankings of the 4-way Women competition at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 had only five teams on the leaderboard. The number of confirmed teams after the preview on June 9th has gone up to seven, which is already three higher than the participation at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2022.
Nothing has changed for the same five teams with the expected finishing positions. However, the two newly listed teams still change the power situation, as the competition behind the Top 4 could become very interesting. The previous results and progression of the three teams, Thyra -... (more)
