Did you know that the story of round 6 in 4-way? posted: Sep 9th, 2003 Let's say it this way: France was surely not affected much by anything, neither physically nor mentally. It was once again a very long day for the French 4-way team. But they went their way and posted another highscore for round six. In fact, France Maubeuge had the highest score for a round in five of the six jumps. It does not look as if anything can stop them from bringing the gold medal back to France. The fastest round of the meet is over and nothing has changed, except that the French lead is now up to seven points. The dominance of the team from Maubeuge is quite obvious. (more)
Did you know that the story of round 5 in 4-way? posted: Sep 9th, 2003 The 4-way competition needs a miracle now to keep it interesting for the audience. We might have expected a team to win a round by three points in the next fast round six. France Maubeuge must have jumped on another planet in round five for two reasons. They 21 they posted for the slow sequence D-22-4 left the rest of the field in the dust. The Golden Knights, Norway and Russia had a hard time to get to the 18 as the second best score for this round. Secondly and unfortunately, the crowd never got the chance to see this phenomenal performance. Transmission problems to the public screen occured... (more)
Did you know that the situation after round 5? posted: Sep 8th, 2003 Norway and Great Britain did not make a move in round five and kept it quiet. The fast round six is coming up and will require the whole energy. It will be the chance for V-Max to make up the distance, which is still three points after five rounds. In the meantime, the defending champion Synchronicity still struggles and had to watch Italy catching up, as well. U.S.A., France and Italy are now all tied in third place. Both Italy and France are surprisingly strong and will probably keep pushing for the third place. Round six has begun. (more)
Did you know that the story of round 4 in 4-way? posted: Sep 8th, 2003 What an accurate prediction by Solly Williams! Round four turned out almost exactly the way he expected it. Sinapsi PD had problems with this sequence and could not keep their usual pace. Sebastian XL and DeLand Norgies both had excellent jumps and shared the highest score of the round with the Golden Knights and France Maubeuge. Four teams ended up with 19 points on the scoreboard. And the Norgies took back "their" third place. None of the four high-scorers of this round had an advantage. In fact, Sebastian XL and the Golden Knights both started slower than France and the Norgies and were on very... (more)
Did you know that the story of round 3 in 4-way? posted: Sep 8th, 2003 The bad weather front had arrived already yesterday in the late afternoon when round three of the 4-way event was almost completed. Only France Maubeuge and the Golden Knights have not made this round yet. This round will now show how close the field of top teams really are. Italy (Sinapsi PD), Norway (DeLand Norgies) and Great Britain (Sebastian XL) already delivered their great performances for round three. Norway's 21 seemed to be the score to beat after a sharp jump. XL simply copied the Norwegian excellence and once again posted a world class result. However, DeLand Majik member Joey Jones... (more)
Did you know that the NSL News visited the Accuracy event today?? posted: Sep 8th, 2003 Tuesday was expected to be a bad weather day for the Formation Skydiving events. And the forecast was quite accurate. It is a cloudy day with the sun still breaking through once in a while. 8-way is scheduled for the first half of the day, 4-way in the afternoon. Accuracy and the CReW events are in full swing. The 8-way teams already tested the jump altitude, including the top teams, which are at the end of the line-up. Only Austria and Australia jumped between the clouds. The rest of the teams all landed as passengers of the several Pilatus Porter that had carried them already up to jump altitude.... (more)
