News Article Did you know that the Qatar Falcons could be more than an underdog in August?
posted: May 13th, 2021 The Qatar Falcons are the second 8-way team on the Shamrock Showdown Cloud leaderboard with scores and videos for all ten rounds. As it was probably for the French national 8-way team with the 22.0 average, the 18.1 for the Qatar Falcons must be encouraging in the run-up to the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 this August. The French performance matched the highest national average before penalties, as the NSL News mentioned in yesterday's Shamrock update. The Qatar Falcons suffered even significantly more point deductions (10) and still posted a new team and national record average. The 17.0 average... (more)
News Article Did you know that France matched the national 8-way record average before penalties?
posted: May 12th, 2021 The 8-way competition of the Shamrock Showdown Cloud 2021 is finally over, at least for the French national 8-way team and for the Qatar Falcons. AZXP8 and Tanay 8 may or may not submit their own additional videos for the evaluation by the same InTime judging panel. The French 22.0 average that the highly experienced InTime judging panel approved after the ten rounds is probably a confidence booster for the young French 8-way team. Having the lead over Russia's Tanay 8-way team, AZXP8 and the Qatar Falcons after Round 4 was already meaningful, as Andrew Starr, Jeremie Rollett and Gary Smith... (more)
News Article Did you know that Dallas Dynasty has an indoor and an outdoor lineup?
posted: May 12th, 2021 The Indoor Cloud League team it iFLY Dallas has been just as consistent with the indoor restart in 2021 as ICL Midwest and Paraclete XP. Florida is still behind, indoors and outdoors, while other U.S. regions have not attempted a restart yet. Jan Klapka reported from the Czech Republic that he is hoping for a reopening of the Hurricane Factory at the end of May. Teams and competitors from Texas have been back in both 4-way environments. Scott Latinis had 11 teams at the season opener of the Texas Skydiving League at Spaceland San Marcos, and Kyle Hermberg's Indoor Cloud League team at iFLY Dallas... (more)
News Article Did you know that Gary Smith, Jeremie Rollett and Andrew Starr debriefed the first four Shamrock 8-way rounds?
posted: May 11th, 2021 The last time Jeremie Rollett commented 8-way competition for NSL Live Talk was in November 2020. The French 8-way world champion of 2006 and 2008, currently coaching the Qatar Falcons, discussed the results of the 8-way competition of the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020 together with Matt Davidson, 8-way world champion with the Golden Knights in 1997 and between 2012 and 2018. The Qatar Falcons were not a part of the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020, while Matt Davidson had fended off the French national 8-way team by two points after ten rounds. This time, the Qatar Falcons are on the 8-way leaderboard of the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the A Class was once again the most popular category?
posted: May 10th, 2021 The current overall leaderboard combines an impressive total number of 23 teams in the four NSL categories (AAA - AA - A - RRR). More 4-way teams are back in the air, this time at outdoor meets in three different league regions of the United States, and more scores from the Northern Plains Skydiving League will still be added. It was only a 2-week time-frame that brought the 23 teams together on the same leaderboard after using the same competition draw. The situation during the corona virus crisis resulted in extended time-frames for the competition draws to offer teams and leagues more flexibility... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Qatar Cheetahs follow a gradual progression in their young 4-way career?
posted: May 9th, 2021 The three coaches of Qatar's Formation Skydiving 4-way delegation (Tigers - Cheetahs - Lions), Gary Smith, Luc Verstrepen, Marin Ferre, had explained their situation with the teams during the NSL Live Talk on 16 October 2020. Qatar Falcons 8-way coach Jeremie Rollett and Gary Smith had discussed several topics earlier last year. The Qatar Tigers participated in the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020 for their restart after a long corona virus break. Gary Smith, Luc Verstrepen and Marin Ferre explained how difficult it was for the Qatar teams to keep in shape somehow while they were waiting for the next... (more)
