News Article Did you know that DC3 won the VPC Championship 2006?
posted: Oct 18th, 2006 Two more events wrapped up the regular 2006 season, one competition in Brazil, the other one in Virginia. The remaining two events on the NSL Calendar of Events are the USPA Nationals 2006 and the NSL Championship 2006. The event in Eloy will be brought to the audience under NSL News Special Events coverage, while the NSL Championship is a part of SkyQuest 2006. The Virginia Parachute Council held its final competition of the 2006 season at Skydive Orange, Inc on Oct 8th. It was a weather shortened meet of only four rounds, but it was the biggest turnout of the year. Four teams participated... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights come back with a world class line-up?
posted: Oct 17th, 2006 It has been a quiet and interesting competition season for the Golden Knights in 2006. The NSL News introduced the new line-up for the 2006 season with the story on January 2. The new line-up included a female Army member, Angela Nichols, for the first time in the Golden Knights history, and the training agenda included many competitions. The plans were completely different than the outcome at the beginning of the year, as team captain Brian "BK" Krause explained in the NSL News story on February 21. Next he had to look back at changes of the original plan and problems for the Army team this... (more)
News Article Did you know that Team Fastrax could be in the way of the complete Airspeed sweep?
posted: Oct 16th, 2006 The NSL News has begun with the coverage of the USPA Nationals 2006. Several stories were already related to the competition that will start on Sunday in Eloy. The event pages have now been added, and more stories will follow very soon. The USPA Nationals 2006 are not the qualification event for the next World Championship of Formation Skydiving, 2006 is a so-called "off-year" for the US teams. However, there is still enough meaning in the race for the top spots on the AAA/Open Class leaderboard. (more)

posted: Oct 13th, 2006 The NSL News story on October 10 introduced a new world class line-up with three of the current 4-way world champions of DeLand Fire, Gary Smith, Shannon Pilcher and Ian Bobo. Solly Williams is the fourth member of this team. The same story mentioned that the NSL News will follow up with the plans of the remaining two former DeLand Fire members, Natasha Montgomery (Point) and Thomas Hughes (Alternate). Actually, it did not take too much imagination to speculate successfully on the couple's plans. Thomas Hughes has trained and competed with Arizona Airspeed this year. The Airspeed focus was set... News Article Did you know that EADS will focus on the 8-way event in the future?
posted: Oct 11th, 2006 The NSL News offered an overview of the situation in Formation Skydiving competition in Germany earlier this year. The last article on September 12 reported that the German national 4-way team at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2006, EADS, won the 4-way and 8-way competition of the DFV-Cup a few weeks after the World Meet. The double victory in 4-way and 8-way is still a very special feature and happens very rarely on a national level. It has never been achieved to date at a world championship. USA and France both gave it a try in the past and did not succeed. (more)
