posted: Jan 7th, 2008 The recent newsletter sent by StartSkydiving.com's manager, Kip Lohmiller, included a paragraph that brought great news to the 4-way community in the league's region: "Mr. Mike Ashley has taken control of the MESL! So Mike, John and I are looking for skydivers that want to train and play in the league. All licensed are welcome. For all the details please contact Mike Ashley. AND SPRED THE WORD AROUND TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!" News Article Did you know that an unusual 6-way competition features celebrities at Paraclete XP next weekend?
posted: Jan 6th, 2008 Guy Manos is mostly known as a moviemaker and stuntman these days. Not many current competitors know that he is actually a former 4-way world champion. His DeLand Air Bears (Guy Manos, Tom Piras, Joe Nepute, John Robbins) won the first World Championship of Formation Skydiving after the current format with a mixture of blocks and random formations was introduced by the International Parachute Commission (IPC). posted: Jan 4th, 2008 The winter break from skydiving in Europe has always brought many teams to the professional skydiving centers in the southern parts of the USA. The off-season is an opportunity for new teams to form and prepare for the next year of 4-way competition and for continuing teams to take a break before moving on to winter and spring training. News Article Did you know that Perris Fury extends the team project to the United Kingdom?
posted: Jan 3rd, 2008 The last Perris Fury update on 10 December 2007 included the mention of the "Fury Free Week" during the Perris Valley Skydiving Holiday Boogie. The event featured free coaching for a full week from various members of the world-class team from Perris. It was the second year that Perris Fury has offered free coaching during the winter holiday. The team reported a successful event at the right time: "As well as adding excitement to an already festive boogie, it has proven to be a great way for Fury to thank local customers and welcome visitors in the holiday spirit." News Article Did you know that Colorado Skydiving League teams dominated at the US Collegiates 2007?
posted: Jan 2nd, 2008 Two teams of last year's Colorado Skydiving League took the first two places at the 4-way event of the Collegiate Nationals 2007. Air Force Invictus won the gold medals, and Revolution placed second. The annual event was held at Skydive Arizona in Eloy on December 30. (more)
News Article Did you know that Bodyflight Storm sent Christmas greetings from the UK?
posted: Dec 27th, 2007 The last update of the Bodyflight Storm situation after winning the UK Nationals 2007 was posted on 26 November 2007. The new British national 4-way team in the Open Class had completed a windtunnel training camp in Bedford, together with Perris Fury. The camp included 2-on-2 sessions with members of both teams flying together. The NSL News was hoping to get some video footage of this training camp, and these videos are still in the works.
