News Article Did you know that three meets come in a 3-week package for the French team?
posted: Jul 19th, 2006 The scores of the Northwest Skydiving League's 2006 season opener are still missing, however, last weekend's almost complete leaderboard is already worth a closer look. The scores from Brazil were added this morning, and the first meet of the Virginia Parachute Council this year was weathered out and re-scheduled. Brazil's national 4-way team, CTR Optimum, scored significantly lower compared to last year's results and this year's first event in May (12.8 average). Actually, the scores of the first three rounds were on pace, only the 9-pointer in round four does not seem to fit to the usual scoring... (more)

posted: Jul 19th, 2006 The third competition of the Mideast Skydiving League added two teams to the AA Class leaderboard last weekend. Mystic Rhythms and Vortex attended the MESL event that was scheduled to take place at Skydive Wayne County. The situation in Richmond turned out to be different than planned, and the small event was relocated to Skydive Greene County in Xenia, OH. MESL Director Randy Connell explained the reason: "Skydive Wayne County was the scheduled host DZ for this weekend's meet. However, the aircraft arrived an hour and a half late and was a Beech-99 instead of the promised Caravan. The door... (more)

News Article Did you know that the Furies and Sirens raced each other once again in the Midwest?
posted: Jul 17th, 2006 The 2005 season of the Midwest Skydiving League already had the exciting competition between Chicagoland Skydiving Center's team Sirens and Skydive Chicago's Furies in the headlines quite a few times. Both teams competed in the A Class by then. The race has continued in the AA Class this year, has become even closer and had a new peak last weekend. The Furies were the dominating A Class team last year, and the Sirens tried to keep in striking distance. However, the competition between the two all-female teams was already much tighter when Furies and Sirens both attended the MWSL 2006 season... (more)
News Article Did you know that two NSL season openers and the 2nd Coupe de France event are coming up this weekend?
posted: Jul 14th, 2006 A busy meet weekend is coming up once again. Ten events are scheduled, including two competitions in Europe. Two of the NSL meets are season openers, even though it is already July. The Northwest Skydiving League naturally begins each season later than other leagues, due to the weather situation in Oregon. Harry Waller has been managing the NWSL activities for several years, and he continues to bring out the competitors in his region meet by meet. Northwest Express4 was last year's NWSL representative in the AAA/Open Class and attended three of the NWSL 2005 meets. Elsinore Vengeance was... (more)
