Did you know that Airspeed is up by one point after three 8-way rounds?
posted: Oct 24th, 2005 Round two in 8-way was almost an exact copy of the meet opener. France was fast and clean, while Airspeed looked more aggressive compared to previous meets. The NSL News visited the Airspeed corner in the team hangar between round two and three, and Craig Girard confirmed this impression: "Yeah, we are not going to wait until round four any longer. We are going for it from the beginning. The nice skydiving is over, we are aggressive now. They had a headstart since Croatia 2004, and we are making it up now." Did you know that Round one has been completed in 8-way?
posted: Oct 24th, 2005 The competition of the IPC World Cup 2005 has begun. The competition draw for all three Formation Skydiving events was announced and delivered to the teams at 5:00 pm on Sunday. Teams went to work right away, and traffic at the drop zone slowed down as soon as the jump preparation was completed. The competition draw includes a very fast sequence (M-J-O-5) in round three for the 4-way teams. There was already a lot of discussion whether this sequence offers the potential for a new world record. Did you know that Thomas Hughes would need another rule change?
posted: Oct 23rd, 2005 The NSL News story on October 17 explained that the recent FAI ruling of the "Pete Allum Case" clarified the eligibility situation for Italy's national team Sinapsi PD and its new member Pete Allum. The NSL News also mentioned that Thomas Hughes is now actually in exactly the same position as Pete, together with all other international air sports athletes who might want to compete for a different nation. However, Thomas Hughes might still have some additional obstacles on his way before he would be eligible to compete with a US team. The NSL News story on December 31 explained the situation... Did you know that the NSL website is back up and running just in time?
posted: Oct 23rd, 2005 The last two days were challenging for the NSL News. Many website visitors were wondering what was going on when skyleague.com fell off the world wide web on Friday. It was a scary situation for the NSL News since the coverage of the IPC World Cup 2005 was just around the corner. The skyleague.com server, QWK.NET, had to make some adjustments, which had an unfortunate impact on the NSL website. The weekend made it more difficult for everybody to get things fixed. However, NSL Webmaster Craig Buxton did all he could to put things back in order, while the NSL News moved from DeLand to Eloy. (more)

Did you know that France seems to have the best 8-way cards for the World Cup?
posted: Oct 20th, 2005 The NSL News already took a quick look at the 8-way situation prior to the upcoming IPC World Cup of Formation Skydiving at Skydive Arizona in Eloy at an earlier preview of the event. It became clear that the 8-way competition will be one of the most exciting events of the World Cup. The currently best three 8-way nations in the world, which are also the medal winners at any international 8-way competitions in the past decade at the same time, will challenge each other once again: USA, France and Russia. Dawn English and Natasha Montgomery were already added to the line-up of VIP's in Formation Skydiving competition this month, and Robert Chromy's career story was added today.
