News Article Did you know that Annie Peterson is Fastrax Blue's new Point?
posted: Dec 12th, 2008 The NSL News story on 28 October 2008 reported that the US national 4-way team in the female category, Fastrax Blue, would be holding try-outs for the open point slot in December. Fastrax Blue lost original team member Kelley Frederickson on May 20 when she died in her sleep in the middle of a training camp in Perris. Perris Fury's Center Outside, Chrity Frikken, filled the slot for the remainder of the 2008 season and at the World Meet 2008 where the US team won the silver medals after an exciting 1-point race with Bodyflight Storm. News Article Did you know that dive pool changes may not help everybody?
posted: Dec 11th, 2008 The NSL News reported last week that IPC’s (International Parachuting Commission) Formation Skydiving Committee was currently evaluating the rules, including the dive pool. The story on 2 December 2008 also explained the history of the blocks and random formations in Formation Skydiving competition. The committee’s chair, Fiona McEachern, invited the whole FS community at the open meeting of the World Meet 2008 in Maubeuge to come up with suggestions for changes in the dive pool for the upcoming two years. News Article Did you know that Mike Ashley and Team Fastrax keep the MESL community busy during the winter?
posted: Dec 11th, 2008 Team building and recruiting efforts and activities are not only happening in California, as the NSL News reported the Perris Fury "slot shopping camp" with the story on 8 December 2008. A recent newsletter of the Mideast Skydiving League host StartSkydiving.com explained how Team Fastrax offers help in this area for teams, competitors and all skydivers. In fact, Mideast Skydiving League Director Mike Ashley and StartSkydiving.com owner John Hart launched their winter campaign already as soon as the 2008 competition season came to its end. posted: Dec 9th, 2008 The end of the 2008 season is also an opportunity for a review of the year and even further back in time. There are a lot of scores on a multiple number of different leaderboards posted at the NSL website. In fact, the NSL News covered 109 different events this year, and the scores and related stories can all be found at the Schedule of Events. posted: Dec 8th, 2008 The 2008 season is over, and many teams in Europe and America use the winter time to relax and recover for a little while before beginning with the actual preparations for the 2009 season. At the same time, recruiting and networking efforts are already taking place for teams who have open slots and for competitors and skydivers who are trying to build new teams. Perris Fury has already guided many skydivers in the past years with their team building efforts, and it has become one of Fury's traditional projects at the end of each year to connect people with each other. News Article Did you know that the NSL Championship 2008 was also a memorial for Dr. Joel Shugar?
posted: Dec 7th, 2008 The NSL-TV coverage of the NSL Championship 2008 is now complete. All videos of all teams and all competition rounds have now been uploaded. The last bulk of uploads presents the AAA Class competition. The NSL News story on 12 November 2008 already mentioned that there would be a sad aspect of this year's event. The NSL Championship has traditionally been the last and final showdown of each competition season between two of the longest standing 4-way teams in the country, Optic Nerve and Teiwaz.
