posted: May 9th, 2009 UK team Satori caught the NSL News attenton quite a few times ever since the team was formed at the end of the 2007 season, with the original members Aaron Faith (Tail), Julia Foxwell (Center Outside), Liz Matthews (Center Inside) and Katie Woods (Point). The first article introduced the new team on 9 January 2008 (Archives > 2008 > News > Search for "Satori"). The Satori members announced their attendance at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 when they visited DeLand for a training camp in January and met with the NSL News for a little chat. News Article Did you know that Germany has three top contenders this year?
posted: May 7th, 2009 The last updates from Germany covered one of the new national challengers, Final Four, with the story on 22 February 2009, and recently the new lineup of the Chicas. The situation is different in Germany this year. There has not been a very strong competition for the top spot in 2007 and 2008. In fact, Germany has always had one team that dominated the national 4-way competition for a certain time period: Colibri in the early and mid 80s, Mobel Krugel in the late 80s and early 90s, Dadalus for the rest of the 90s until EADS took over in 2000. posted: May 5th, 2009 New meet dates have recently been added to the NSL Calendar of Events for the 2009 season. There are currently 90 4-way competitions posted, and the 2009 schedule is not even complete yet. Some of the latest meet dates came from the Northern Plains Skydiving League. While Nick "Junior" Grillet just completed his first meet with his new team Elsinore BTE at the season opener of the California Skydiving League in Elsinore, his father Sandy Grillet posted the 2009 schedule of the Northern Plains Skydiving League and invited the skydivers of the region to attend the meets. News Article Did you know that the competition in Finland was exciting even without the top teams?
posted: May 4th, 2009 The NSL News covered the Pro Team from Finland and its 3-year plan with the story on 15 March 2009. The story was posted before the World Challenge 2009, which would show where the Pro Team begins the 2009 season. This year will feature a new race with archrival Tigers in Finland. The latest scores on the NSL leaderboard came from Finland and were provided by Jukka Olkkonen, who judged the meet together with Raija Kosonen and Harry Latvala. News Article Did you know that the national female lineups set up for the 2010 showdown?
posted: May 3rd, 2009 Spaceland Blue's recent move from hibernation into training action brings back memories of the World Meet 2008 in France where three of the team members left behind the French national team, Aerokart Deep Blue, and won the silver medals one single point behind the Bodyflight Storm world champions. Becky Brocato, Erin Murphy and Brianne Thompson, with Niklas Daniel on camera, surprised the French team with a very strong performance after a short training season and seriously challenged the Bodyflight Storm lineup of 2008. News Article Did you know that Skydive Dallas sponsors a new 8-way project?
posted: May 2nd, 2009 The NSL News story on 3 April 2009 mentioned that the Texas Skydiving League is back in the NSL Network. Texas is the only league that includes 8-way competition at the meets of the regular season and has its own separate 8-way championship event. Skydive Dallas has an 8-way tradition, and top competitors from different parts of the USA have now joined forces to form a new 8-way lineup for the 2009 season.
