posted: Feb 16th, 2008 The Valentine's Meet 2008 got to a late start on Saturday morning after bad weather kept the teams on the ground in the morning. The first scores will be posted as soon as they become available. Shannon Pilcher, who works with the Canadian national team Evolution in Eloy, reported on the phone that Airspeed Odyssey scored 21 points in Round 1. Perris Fury completed 20 points in time, lost four points in the judging room and had a 16-pointer on the scoreboard. Evolution had to accept two penalties and got 15 points as the officil score. News Article Did you know that Skydive Arizona is ready for the Valentine's Meet 2008?
posted: Feb 14th, 2008 The first outdoor competition of the 2008 season is coming up this weekend at Skydive Arizona in Eloy. The Valentine's Meet 2008 has been the season opener of 4-way competition in the USA for many years. The event has recently also become the first meet of the Arizona Skydiving League, which was launched at the beginning of the 2007 season. The Valentine's Meet attracted up to 27 teams at the peak of the event in 1998. Arizona Airspeed's dominating 4-way lineups were drawing their large following to Eloy at a time when most other parts of the world had their winter breaks, and many teams scheduled... (more)

posted: Feb 13th, 2008 The growth of the skydiving community may have come to a pause, however, the popularity of 4-way Formation Skydiving is still growing. The Carolina Skydiving League welcomed several new Rookie Class teams to its windtunnel competition last weekend, and the first outdoor meets of the 2008 season will provide additional evidence. Not only the World Challenge 2008 will register record participation this year. The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 will break all previous records, as well. News Article Did you know that the first scores of the 2008 season are from North Carolina?
posted: Feb 12th, 2008 The first scores of the 2008 season are posted, and they are not coming from Bedford, Arizona or Florida. The Carolina Skydiving League held a windtunnel competition in Raeford last Saturday. A total of 14 teams attended the 5-round competition, and the Rookie Class teams enjoyed a very promising participation with eight lineups. The logistics of the windtunnel competition required each team to complete two or three rounds per 15-minute flying session. posted: Feb 11th, 2008 Two NSL News stories reported at the end of the 2008 season that Norway's national 4-way team Arcteryx had a personnel change for the 2008 season. The story on 25 October 2007 (Archives > 2007 > News > search for "Arcteryx") broke the news that Mathias Nord was the new Center Inside for the world-class team. The next story on 14 November 2007 introduced Mathias Nord and his skydiving career until he joined the Norwegian national team. posted: Feb 10th, 2008 The NSL News story on 7 January 2008 introduced Mike Ashley as the new Mideast Skydiving League Director. The story on 30 January 2008 followed up with an invitation to the MESL Meet-n-Greet event at Start Skydiving on April 12. Mike Ashley has moved further forward in the meantime and added valuable 4-way information in the last newsletter.
