Did you know that round three in the 4-way Open went to Italy's Sinapsi PD? posted: Sep 18th, 2004 DeLand Majik's streak of flawless performance ended in round three. The leader on the scoreboard in Rijeka completed 21 points within working time and received a score of 17 points for the same round. A rough finish of Block 19 (Ritz - Icepick) was not accepted by three of the five judges (2,3,4) and caused the first penalty.
A different 3-2 combination of judges (1,2,4) also decided that the inter from the Icepick to the Hook was incorrect. Two judges called both infringements, two judges called only one of the two situations, and one judge did not see any infringements. (more)
Did you know that the 4-way Women's competition has now begun? posted: Sep 18th, 2004 Round two of the 4-way Open event is complete, and DeLand Majik has increased the lead to two points. This time, the judges needed only one viewing for both of the top teams. However, Majik's jump was still cleaner and again a little bit quicker. Round three will be called later today.
In the meantime, the teams of the 4-way Women's event have been called to the MI-8. Round one is on the agenda. The defending champion, UK's V-Max, is not present in Rijeka to defend the title. V-Max competed this year at the Malevsky World Cup 2004, however, the team has not trained ever since the Mondial 2003... (more)
Did you know that the logistics put teams and management to the test in Croatia? posted: Sep 18th, 2004 Let's begin with the bad news. The last day before the start of the competition had most people shake their heads and wonder how this could all work. The weather had been so bad for the whole week prior to the meet that the highest number of training jumps for the teams on site in Rijeka was two. Many of the teams that arrived early enough to use the Friday for training jumps did not get in the air over Croatia at all. A strong wind had followed the bad-weather front and did not allow any jumping. Round one of the world meet would be the first jump for these teams. (more)

Did you know that Carolina Ice defended the Carolina Skydiving League Championship 2004? posted: Sep 16th, 2004 The final meet of the Carolina Skydiving League 2004 was held at Carolina Sky Sports on September 11. Good weather and a fast FrankenOtter allowed the twelve registered teams to complete all of the scheduled rounds with time to spare. A special thanks to the hosts of the meet, Paul and Nancy Fayard, for providing excellent facilities, staff and aircraft for a safe and successful weekend.

Did you know that the Midwest Skydiving League Rookies Class teams had a sensational competition at the playoffs? posted: Sep 15th, 2004 The fifth and final MWSL meet of the 2004 season took place last weekend under perfect skydiving conditions at Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Hinckley, IL. Six teams, five of whom had attended every MWSL meet this season, competed for off-season bragging rights, prizes and the opportunity to compete in the NSL Championships at SkyQuest 2004. In a format new for 2004, this event was a “meet within a meet”. Through the first six rounds, the teams were not only putting up scores for MWSL meet 5, but also for the NSL Playoffs 2004.
