Did you know that there was confusion over the penalty rules at the MESL competition?
posted: May 23rd, 2005 The NSL News mentioned earlier today that the teams competing at the season opener of the Mideast Skydiving League were confused about the current rules that regulate the penalty situation. In fact, the situation at Skydive Greene County was not only confusing for the teams and competitors, it was also challenging for the event judge and the meet director. Deanne Hesterberg was the MESL event judge. She is a current USPA national judge for Formation Skydiving competition and naturally very familiar with the USPA Competition Manual. Did you know that the scores of 61 teams and the first meet story are already posted?
posted: May 23rd, 2005 The past weekend turns out to offer as many scores and much information as it could be expected. Around noon on Monday, a total of 61 teams was already listed in the scoring table, with the teams of several leagues still not on the board yet. The first meet story of the Midwest Skydiving League competition at Skydive Chicago follows below. There comes a lot of additional information with the scores. Did you know that the NSL SkyVenture Competition is back on for the 2005 season?
posted: May 20th, 2005 NSL and SkyVenture Orlando finalized the plans for the continuation of the NSL SkyVenture Competition 2005 right in time. The popular game has had all participating teams in pursuit of the SkyVenture tunnel certificates in the past years. The NSL Shugar/O'Connor handicap system has been applied, which gives each team the chance to contend for the prizes, no matter which performance level or competition class. It was more difficult for SkyVenture's Vice President Operations, Trevor Thompson, to make the decision for the 2005 season, and it took more time for the final approval. NSL and SkyVenture... Did you know that the upcoming weekend might break all meet participation records?
posted: May 19th, 2005 The biggest meet weekend of the 2005 season is coming up this weekend. The NSL Schedule of Events shows that a total of 13 different leagues have scheduled 4-way competitions for May 21 - 22. Six of these events take place at NSL locations in the U.S.A., and seven leagues of the European Skydiving League (ESL) will also be active this weekend. (more)

Did you know that the quality of the SSL-TV is now up to the speed of round three?
posted: May 18th, 2005 NSL-TV has followed up with the SSL footage of the April meet in Eloy. Fortunately, the quality of the video files has followed the progression of the meet. Arizona Divewerkz member Paul Gatling was right when he mentioned that the quality will become better in the later rounds. The NSL story of May 6 covered the quality issue. Gatling remembered that the VCR used for the dubbing procedure in Perris had "some serious flicker issues". Arizona Divewerkz tried to help the situation and provided the team's VCR for dubbing beginning in round two or three. Then the flickering stopped. (more)

Did you know that the first part of April's round three is now on NSL-TV?
posted: May 18th, 2005 NSL-TV continues with the coverage of the April meet weekend where teams of the Florida and the Southwest Skydiving League competed in Lake Wales and Eloy. The NSL News story of May 11 covered the second round of the SSL meet and allowed the SSL-TV to catch up with the FSL-TV. The coverage of the next and third round begins with the FSL teams, including the highscorer in Lake Wales, Norway's national 4-way team Arcteryx. The meet videos of the Southwest Skydiving League will be added to the NSL-TV coverage of round three later today. (more)
