News Article Did you know that Round 5 in 8-way could scramble the medal positions tomorrow?
posted: Aug 11th, 2021 On Wednesday morning it was time for the 8-way and VFS teams to catch up with the five rounds, respectively four, that the 4-way Open Class and 4-way Women teams had completed on the first meet day of the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020. Unfortunately, the weather in Tanay has become the next obstacle for the event. The Russian 4-way Open Class team VDV Airborne was eventually removed from the leaderboard, after a devastating run-up to the competition, including the plane crash and troubles with the corona virus situation. The 4-way Open Class field is now down to nine teams. However, the competition... (more)
News Article Did you know that Niklas Hemlin followed up with more NSL TV Unfiltered?
posted: Aug 10th, 2021 Niklas Hemlin collected much more footage on the morning of the first competition day. The rest of his NSL TV Unfiltered contribution has now been uploaded and is ready for reviews of the activities at the competition site of the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020. His coaching colleague Gary Smith has a frequent presence in Niklas Hemlin's second NSL TV Unfiltered show, as he was in full work swing after collecting and sending his own footage from Tanay earlier the same morning. The two teams he has been working with, NMP PCH HayaBusa and Qatar Tigers, require his full attention, as the videos are showing. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that the smallest world meet generates the greatest excitement?
posted: Aug 10th, 2021 Gary Smith and Niklas Hemlin are really not on a vacation at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020. In fact, they are probably two of the busiest people at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving. Gary Smith is coaching NMP PCH HayaBusa and the Qatar Tigers, who are both in medal positions after Round 5. The reigning, and most likely successfully defending, world champions from Belgium will almost be on a vacation in the second half of the meet, even though they mentioned that they will continue to take each round as serious as they can. As in the past with the previous lineup, they did take... (more)
News Article Did you know that all six Czech Indoor Cloud League highscores in July were posted by 4-way juniors?
posted: Aug 9th, 2021 The FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 will receive the deserved attention in the coming days, even though the event is much smaller than it was originally planned and expected to be. The first live update from Tanay in Siberia is in the works, with correspondent Gary Smith recording and commenting interesting live footage. The NSL News will still try to cover other events, which have recently taken place and will continue to happen at the same time. One of them connects the outdoor event in Russia indirectly with the Indoor Cloud League competition of July. The Czech national team Flying Circus was... (more)
News Article Did you know that the competition draw in Tanay may favor HayaBusa and offer a world record opportunity?
posted: Aug 9th, 2021 The competition draw for the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 has been posted for a few hours, and the teams have finished their preparations for Round 1 tomorrow morning. The Polish national team in 4-way Open also withdrew from the competition, and the field is down to a total of ten teams. Flyspot Sky4four had recently competed at the Flyspot Liga Meet on July 25th and decided not to follow up with the outdoor competition in Russia. The reigning 4-way Open Class world champions, NMP PCH HayaBusa, cannot complain about the competition draw. They like the fast sequences, and the 10-round meet begins... (more)
News Article Did you know that the French national team in 4-way Women could face an unexpected challenge?
posted: Aug 8th, 2021 Last and not least, the NSL Power Rankings in 4-way Women complete the preview of the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 in the three Formation Skydiving competition events. It is the youngest of the three traditional events and was introduced to world championships for the first time in 2001. The 4-way Women competition was hit harder by the implications of the corona virus crisis than the previously covered events in 4-way Open and 8-way Open. Only four national teams are registered for the competition, which is the lowest number of participating teams in the history of the event. This is not different... (more)
