News Article Did you know that even only four rounds were worth the trip for the Airspeed teams?
posted: Mar 22nd, 2021 The weather did not cooperate with the plans for the Shamrock Showdown 2021, even though it was a promising start on Friday. Round 4 could be completed in 4-way before the teams had to go on a weather hold that lasted until the end of the weekend. Arizona Airspeed finished with the highest meet average in the history of Formation Skydiving competition, even higher than the recent 31.5 at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021. Of course, it has only little meaning, as the fastest sequences of the eleven rounds, with eight consecutive random formations, were a part of the competition on the... (more)
News Article Did you know that online judging may even stay when events go back to live environment?
posted: Mar 20th, 2021 Arizona Airspeed delivered a flawless performance in Round 2 sending a strong message to Belgium, where NMP PCH HayaBusa are still waiting for their restart. The Belgian army has not given the green light yet for normal training operation under the military umbrella. The situation is similar to the one of the Golden Knights who had to cancel the visit at the Shamrock Showdown for army-specific reasons. Qatar's Formation Skydiving delegation, also supported by the government, is now back in action, and at least the Falcons are ready to join the 8-way leaderboard in the coming week. The format... News Article Did you know that the 4-way teams started their Shamrock Showdown on Friday afternoon?
posted: Mar 19th, 2021 It was a slow start for the Shamrock Showdown 2021 on Friday morning at Skydive City. The first load made it successfully into the Florida skies before strong winds on the backside of the passing weather system caused the first weather hold. It was the fast Round 1 in 8-way that generated the first scores and videos on the leaderboard. Airspeed XP8 followed up on the 28-pointer with 23 for the sequence with five random formations a few hours later. The 24 for Round 3 and the 19 in Round 4 had the U.S. national 8-way team finish with a strong 23.5 average at the end of the first 8-way day. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that XPG4 created the 4-way Super Sequence in Round 2 of the Shamrock Showdown?
posted: Mar 19th, 2021 The Shamrock Showdown 2021 began with the traditional opening ceremony on the evening before the scheduled Round 1. It is the time when the teams, host and judges are being introduced to each other and to any visitors. Briefing and introduction include the competition draw, which has its own tradition, as well. It has been a manual procedure ever since the Shamrock Showdown was inaugurated in 2002. The participants enter the stage and draw round by round from a hat, or any other container, which is often one of the NSL trophies. It happened three times in the past that the participants created... (more)
News Article Did you know that InTime and Jim Rees connect teams across the planet for the Shamrock Showdown?
posted: Mar 17th, 2021 Agera FS2022 have finally received the royal InTime judging treatment, together with Jump Florida Furtherance, and the eleven rounds of the NSL Cloud Mondial February 2021 now have the professional frame, with the InTime scores and penalty assignments. Agera held their 20+ average level, even though they launched the complete first formations of the sequences into the flying chamber for the first time. The team members said in the recent NSL Live Talk that they were prepared to accept lower scoring numbers due to the new entry technique. They did not get much entry coaching before testing... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Texas delegation had a very successful visit in North Carolina?
posted: Mar 16th, 2021 The NSL News mentioned with the last Indoor Cloud League update from iFLY Dallas on February 15th that ICL organizer Kyle Hermberg would be sporting two teams for the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021. The aftermath story on February 15th then reported the tight competition in the AA/Intermediate Class. Kyle Hermberg himself finished only 11 points away from defending the indoor title with his new team, Dallas Dynasty, and he took USIS silver medals back to Texas this year. The second team from Texas, Flying Unicorn Circus In Training, won the gold medals in the Rookie Class, and the... (more)
