News Article Did you know that A Class teams battled in Great Britain last weekend?
posted: May 10th, 2007 The Grand Prix competition series in Great Britain launched its first competition of the 2007 season last weekend. The 4-way meet was actually the third event that took place on May 5 - 6, together with the New England Skydiving League (NESL) and the Belgian Skydiving Trophy (BST). Unfortunately, the competition draw was only synchronized between the teams in New England and Belgium due to a communication error with the Grand Prix management. News Article Did you know that Alena Chistova will lift the Russian Jet Bats to new levels?
posted: May 9th, 2007 Alena Chistova has caught the attention of the skydiving world and of any observers of her training and competition activities at many different occasions. The attractive Russian Formation Skydiving competitor impresses as well with her appearance as with her very dynamic flying style. Her international career with the Russian national 8-way team Evolution Pro began after she had won the Russian national 4-way championship title with Wild Wind in 2003. She also competed with Wild Wind for Russia at the World Meet 2003 in Gap, France, where her team finished in 9th place with a 16.9 average. (more)
News Article Did you know that the first 2007 scores from New England have been added to the leaderboard?
posted: May 8th, 2007 The New England Skydiving League had a much better start into the 2007 season compared to last year's season opener at the same location in May. Mass Defiance member and NESL Director Brian Stephens mentioned in his meet report that everybody was happy to have much better conditions last weekend: "We had a great start into the 2007 season. Six teams showed up to compete, a few new ones, and a few that competed in 2006. Last year's meet at Conneticut Parachutists got rained out, so everyone was very happy that the weather co-operated this time." (more)
News Article Did you know that Arcteryx' new team highscore is now available on NSL-TV?
posted: May 7th, 2007 Round 4 of the FSL April meet had the fastest sequence of the 6-round competition in Lake Wales (D-P-A-17). Arcteryx and Teiwaz did not miss this opportunity, and the Norwegian national team's 29-pointer became the highest score for a single round posted by the new line-up with Derek Broughton. (more)
News Article Did you know that Hayabusa Defence will compete at the Malevsky Cup 2007?
posted: May 6th, 2007 The last NSL News update of the Hayabusa Defence plans for the 2007 season was posted with the NSL News story on March 5. The update introduced the new line-up with Luc Verstrepen, who replaced Sven Ibens at the end of the 2006 season. The team plans included the World Challenge 2007 at Bodyflight Bedford, and the NSL News saw Hayabusa Defence live in action at the wind tunnel competition in April. It was a great opportunity for a live interview with the new line-up, and the team members took the time for the interview after the completion of the event in Bedford. (more)
News Article Did you know that teams in DeLand are on a smoke hold?
posted: May 4th, 2007 Several teams have currently been training in DeLand, including Norway's team Arcteryx, Denmark's team Blaze, Dynamic Force from the Netherlands, an 8-way team from Great Britain and the Brazilian Air Force team. The training jumps for these teams included the smell of smoke coming from the biggest wild fire in the history of Georgia. Winds from the north had carried the smoke from Georgia deep into Florida. However, the visibility for jump plane pilots and skydivers was still good enough to continue with any flight operations, and the teams did not have to interrupt their training camps. (more)
