News Article Did you know that the first scores of the 2008 season are from North Carolina?
posted: Feb 12th, 2008 The first scores of the 2008 season are posted, and they are not coming from Bedford, Arizona or Florida. The Carolina Skydiving League held a windtunnel competition in Raeford last Saturday. A total of 14 teams attended the 5-round competition, and the Rookie Class teams enjoyed a very promising participation with eight lineups. The logistics of the windtunnel competition required each team to complete two or three rounds per 15-minute flying session. Two teams, Paraclete XP (AAA) and Last Minute (AA), even completed all five rounds within one flying session. Paraclete XP posted the highest... (more)
News Article Did you know that 4-way is still the best for Arcteryx Point Derek Broughton?
posted: Feb 11th, 2008 Two NSL News stories reported at the end of the 2008 season that Norway's national 4-way team Arcteryx had a personnel change for the 2008 season. The story on 25 October 2007 (Archives > 2007 > News > search for "Arcteryx") broke the news that Mathias Nord was the new Center Inside for the world-class team. The next story on 14 November 2007 introduced Mathias Nord and his skydiving career until he joined the Norwegian national team. The same article mentioned that Arcteryx would once again spend the whole winter in DeLand, and the training would begin in January. Ditta Valsdottir, Derek... (more)

posted: Feb 10th, 2008 The NSL News story on 7 January 2008 introduced Mike Ashley as the new Mideast Skydiving League Director. The story on 30 January 2008 followed up with an invitation to the MESL Meet-n-Greet event at Start Skydiving on April 12. Mike Ashley has moved further forward in the meantime and added valuable 4-way information in the last newsletter. Fastrax member and world-class 4-way competitor John Hart provided Mike Ashley and the 4-way community with an article, which is the first part of a series of 4-way tips. Team Fastrax and John Hart will be at the MESL Meet-n-Greet event, hosted by Start... (more)
News Article Did you know that Airspeed's Odyssey 2007 is now available on DVD?
posted: Feb 8th, 2008 Some of the regular Skyleague.com visitors have already detected a new item in the NSL Shop and ordered a new DVD that has been added to the inventory. Airspeed's Odyssey through the 2007 season, at least in parts, has now been documented on the new DVD, which has just become available. The NSL News has covered most of the events that Airspeed Odyssey attended last year, and many meet videos were uploaded and could be viewed on NSL-TV. However, a video on the internet is surely not the same as a DVD of the best 4-way jumps of the 2007 season, and the DVD offers much more than only competition... (more)
News Article Did you know that Felix Poseidon is the Italian national 4-way team this year?
posted: Feb 7th, 2008 The NSL News has covered the complicated situation in Italy after last year's national championship quite a few times. The last update on 29 January 2008 explained the perspective of the reigning Italian 4-way champion, the Eutelia Spin Team. Italy's parachute association, FIPAS, had already passed on the issue to a higher level by then, due to the complicated situation and the different intertwined interests of the involved parties. Italy's CCSA was now in charge of the final decision. The CCSA is the national sporting commission that oversees all aeronautical disciplines in Italy. (more)
News Article Did you know that DeLand Groove trains for the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008?
posted: Feb 6th, 2008 The last reunion of DeLand Genesis (Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo, Kyle Collins, David Van Greuningen, Eric Taylor) was actually planned for last year's USPA Nationals and did not materialize. The next attempt to get together as many of the original members as possible followed for the NSL Championship 2007, with the same unfortunate result. DeLand Groove instead (Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo, Solly Williams, Gary Smith) was more successful with a reunion at the FSL Shamrock 2007. The combination of DeLand Majik members (Solly Williams, Gary Smith) and DeLand Genesis (Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo) had... (more)
